Ok you guys, I have a problem. I feel that I am fat and I feel that I am. I am doing everything and anything to lose wait. I am taking diet pils, I am also on the slim fast program as well.
I hate myself because of this. This is the only thing I will eat all day long. If i eat real food I will feel that I am very fat. So, the only thing I eat is the slim fast stuff. Is that really bad?

It depends on whether or not you are really fat or just perceive yourself as being fat. If you really are, then a sensible diet and exercise program is called for. But if other people tell you that you are not fat, then maybe you need some counseling to deal with your low self image.

She may not want to reveal that on a public forum such as this.

If people tell you you're not fat, that usually means you're not fat. Dieting is ok, but just be careful! Don't starve yourself or undereat!

not just dieting, but exercising on a regular basis will help with that too. but, if people tell you you are not fat, trust them. You're fine just the way you are.

Agree with joanne. Some good exercise aught to help. If you feel fat, feel like starving yourself, it may be best to seak professional help.

if you think your fat, get on a scale. Then you can say "wow I'm not fat at all."
Alternatively, "wow, I am indeed fat!"

You should not be just eating the slim fast alone in either case. I've also been on this diet, and you are suposed to have two meals of slim fast, but one of actual food as well. It should be healthy food, but it can be anything you want. The shakes and bars how ever are not enough to give you the nutrience needed by actual food. Have someone read a box or can to you, and you will know what I mean about things not being there that your body needs to be healthy. As stated in my other board post to you. You would be best off discussing your diet with a dietition. Good luck!

The slim fast isn't so bad, BUT diet pills aren't good for you I read that someone died from taking those.

you also need to eat some food. Just limit your portions. The slim fast diet reccomends a shake for breakfast, a bar for lunch and then you eat dinner like normal.

Also exercise is good, just go for a walk with a friend, that way you wont be bored.

Hi, first, sounds like you have a body image problem. Next, SlimFast does not give you enough nutrients during the day to sustain regular amounts of activity. if you feel drained all the time and can't concentrate that's because your body isn't getting the right type of energy. Since you're combining SlimFast with diet pills, this sounds like a really crappy situation. Other posters are right when they say that you need certain nutrients to function, and diet pills aren't nutritious. Another thing is that by eating, your body produces chemicals which tell your body it's not starving. You'll also feel full which also prevents this starvation mode. Another thing to consider is that while it may be harder at first to lose weight, it's better for you to lose it slowly. Some diets like SlimFast mainly cause you to lose water weight. But obesity is caused by too much fat, not too much water. You may actually gain weight back if you stop taking the pills and give up the SlimFast. It would really help you to eat a healthy diet and get regular exercise. Not only will you lose weight, you'll feel a lot better. There's nothing like the feeling of a toned body, and this is something that SlimFast can't give you. I don't think you're anorexic, cause you do take in some nourishment. But, you need to ask yourself, if you lost the weight, would you still see yourself as fat? Most of us have a way of judging ourselves more harshly than others do. Kudos for being in counseling, cause just by your short post, it sounds like you have a really negative body image. Sure, everyone hates certain features, but SlimFast and diet pills aren't gonna solve the deeper issues you may have. Another great thing about exercise is that it's a great self-esteme booster. Even if I haven't lost any weight, just knowing I'm getting in shape is an awesome feeling. I find exercise to be an excellent stress reliever as well.

One thing i looked up recently was slim fast, and it had a meal plan. It did say to drink allot of water and depending on your weight it had portions of what you should eat at your regular meal. It also said while having a shake or a bar you could have something like low fat yogurt or simelar to combine with it in order to give any nutrience you might lack. There is more information on their website.

thanks you guys. I am now seeing my councilor every two weeks. I feel a little bit better but there is sometimes where I do not want to eat.
